About Mortimer
Email BRENDA in the first instance rescuerambles92@gmail.com, providing information about your home situation, what you can offer Mortimer, if you have other pets, what species and if you have been totally responsible for a cat before - financially, physically and emotionally.
IF THE CAT DOES NOT HAVE ADOPTION PENDING ON THE LISTING, IT IS STILL AVAILABLE
Mortimer was born in the roof space of a house as his mother had no where else to give birth. As a result he loves getting underneath bedding to sleep - it makes him feel safe!
He is affectionate, enjoys a tummy rub but takes time to trust new people. Not looking for a home with children or other cats. He prefers his humans to be older (50 & over) as that is what he is used to.
The photo shows Mortimer on the right with his sister Morwenna on the left. She has already been placed and adjusted really well. All his siblings and mother have found homes and are much loved pets once they adjusted into their new home.
If you believe you can offer Mortimer his ideal home please email with details of what you are offering. The initial email is important as it helps ascertain your suitability for this cat.
Medical notes
Dental done prior to adoption. The adoption fee reflects only a small part of the overall cost of desexing, vaccinating, mirochipping and the dental work, let alone food and litter costs or any other veterinary expenses encountered whilst Mortimer has been in my care.
I work entirely on my own, using a government age pension to fund my work. Comparisons should not be made between my adoption fee and that of other organisations who receive regular donations from the public that may reach into the multi million dollar range. The only time I ask for public donations is when a cat requires specialist veterinary surgery to save their life because I have used all my savings in the last 28 years and have little left. If you do not want to pay the adoption fee, then Mortimer is not for you and it is best you look elsewhere.
