About Theo
1) Generally
- Good with Other Dogs
- Not Good With Cats
- Suitable for Kids + 12 yrs and only if gentle and calm
- Toilet Trained
- Size 26 kgs
2) Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Handsome, friendly, playful, affectionate, good with other dogs and kids plus loads of fun. This young 9 month old pup has it all.
Theo does has separation anxiety but the good news is that he is young enough to turn this around in the right hands. He isn't destructive but will bark and cry when left alone.
Theo loves walks in the park, bush and beach - not the water though. He travels well in the car. He generally wants to be around his owner.
He doesn't like a vacuum cleaner or hose.
He loves a cuddle and will be your best loyal furry mate! Theo is a very gentle, lovely puppy who will give you all the love in the world - hard to say no to those puppy dog eyes.
3) Ideal Owner
Singles or couples looking for a beautiful, sweet natured young companion. As he needs some reassurance and training he will not suit novice dog owners.
He has been on a camping holiday with a bunch of kids aged from 4 -16 yrs and he was very gentle. We recommend older kids in case a child is accidentally knocked over.
Another permanent friendly dog would be nice but not essential.
Theo will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.
As Theo is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
He will not suit homes with residents that are:
- very young, frail, elderly,
- renters
- novice dog owners or
- time poor.
4) Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Currently barks when alone due to separation anxiety.
Theo will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not.
- stay at home parent.
- someone that works from home.
- part time workers as long as someone is home more often than not.
- empty nesters.
- active retirees.
5) Exercise Requirements
High. At least 1 walk a day or play in a park / beach with other dogs. He can get a bit stir crazy inside all day.
6) When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he is ok unless distracted. He has been to puppy school.
7) When OFF a lead ...
Making progress. He will generally stay nearby but sometimes runs off. If you chase after him, he will run away! Cheeky monkey...
8) Type of Yard Required
Medium to large interesting and secure. Country or by the beach even better.
Ok with shoulder height fencing.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
