About Echo
1) Generally
- Good with Other Dogs
- Not Good With Cats
- Good with Kids + 12yrs as may accidentally knock a child over
- Toilet Trained
- Size 15 kgs
2) Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Happy, loyal and affectionate doggy, good with kids and other dogs.
Echo will sit by your side calmly waiting for a pat or belly rub but is not really into playing fetch.
He is very friendly with other dogs and always eager to make new friends - sometimes becoming over excited.
Echo tolerates being washed and brushed but does not really enjoy it.
3) Ideal Owner
Active singles or couples home more often than not looking for an affectionate, loyal fur-child.
Echo is good with kids, albeit excitable at times, but it is best they are 12 years or older (a small child may be accidentally knocked over) and only if gentle and calm around dogs. No dog likes to be rough housed by excited kids.
Another permanent friendly dog would be nice but is not essential.
Echo will not suit homes where people live in very close proximity to each other with small outside areas e.g. villas, units, apartment complexes, terrace houses, strata complexes etc.
As Echo is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
Echo will not suit homes with residents that are:
- very young, frail, elderly,
- renters or
- time poor.
4) Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but can be commanded to stop barking. Echo can bark at passing pedestrians or door knockers.
Echo will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not.
- someone that works from home.
- part time workers as long as someone is home more often than not.
- empty nesters.
- active retirees.
5) Exercise Requirements
High. Echo needs daily walks.
6) When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs Echo starts off pulling but settles although he may get excited and pull when he sees another dog, eager to make friends and explore.
7) When OFF a lead ...
Echo needs work on recall.
8) Type of Yard Required
- Medium to large interesting and secure.
- May take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape
- Will dart through an open gate or door and take off
- Ok with shoulder height fencing

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
