About Ronda | Loves The Outdoors
1) Generally
- Good with Other Dogs
- Not Good With Cats
- Good with Kids + 12 yrs due size
- Toilet Trained
- Size 33 kgs
2) Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Good with dogs, quiet, good with kids, happy, inquisitive and a lover of the great outdoors. Affectionate but independent and not needy. She has a lovely temperament.
Ronda is in her prime, is fit, toned and healthy. She is a big adventurer, loving to gallop and explore. Roaming and running outdoors is what she loves most. Close second is spending time with the people she loves.
She is fine with kids but if rough housed becomes frightened and will retreat to a quiet, solitary space. Any kids should be 12 yrs or older and only if gentle and calm around dogs - for her sake. No dog deserves to be rough housed by kids who are 'full of beans.''
Ronda is very lady like, politely nudging your hand for a pat or belly rub.
3) Ideal Owner
Outdoorsey and physically active owners looking for an energetic companion to share both adventures and also quality down time.
4) While Rhonda is good with other dogs she would prefer to be the only permanent dog in the home so she can have all the attention.
As Ronda is people orientated she needs to be part of family activities.
She will not suit homes with residents that are:
- very young, frail, elderly,
- couch potatoes,
- renters or
- full time workers or time poor.
5) Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
She is very quiet - more likely to 'grunt' then growl in response to door knockers.
Ronda will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not.
- stay at home parent.
- someone that works from home.
- part time workers with plenty of time off.
- empty nesters.
- active retirees.
6) Exercise Requirements
High - she is very fit and loves nothing more than to gallop and explore. She enjoys good quality daily exercise.
7) When ON a lead ...
Ronda is well behaved although she is 33kg of muscle and does pull if she sees a cat.
8) When OFF a lead ...
Ronda loves to run free at the beach or out in the open, swim in the river and have a good game of fetch. Her recall is good.
9) Type of Yard Required
- Medium to large interesting and secure.
- May take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape.
- Will dart through an open gate or door and take off.
- At least shoulder height fencing.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
