About Mirren
Mirren & Sweetie are two cute Burmillas that deserve a loving, patient, fun furrever home. They are not siblings, just a bonded pair, and didn't have the most ideal start to their lives before coming to Cat Haven but have become smoochie furballs. Mirren is almost 8 years old, cream/ginger and has a great purrsonality. Sweetie is almost 7 years old, is white, talks a lot and seeks your pats. They have had some dental work done but eat wet & dry food easily.
They have been in their foster home since mid December 2018 and have really come out of their shells and enjoy any attention you give them (on their terms). Mirren is protective of Sweetie which is very cute, yet Mirren is a softie at heart and has become a lap cat. They took only about a week to settle in, had their own room with the two resident cats (one year old boys) on the other side of the door. When the door was opened and just a barrier in place they were all curious and eager to make acquaintances. After a few more weeks of the barrier and supervised roaming of the rest of the house, the barrier was removed and they have free reign. Plus, couldn't keep Sweetie in the room, she was cheeky and kept breaking out & Mirren would follow.
Mirren & Sweetie enjoy the freedom of the house, have never been outside at their foster house, just take over the resident cats' beds and morning sun spots they sleep shut in the safety of their own room at night so we can all get some good shut-eye. They have tolerated the resident cats well, some kisses, but there has also been hisses and chasing but nothing serious. If your home has other cats it may stress them somewhat as they are quite territorial of their room and certain spots.
After about a month with increasing time spent in their room by the humans, they have become purring, smoochie, talkative kitties that enjoy being close to you. Sweetie enjoys tummy rubs when she lies down, Mirren takes some extra time to allow you to do that. They play with their toys and run around like kittens however not so much when the boy resident cats try to join in.
They have not been socialised with dogs or children. This would stress them out so they would prefer a home without these. We hope to find the purrfect home for these two adorable kitties so they can enjoy the rest of their lives in comfort and happiness.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
