About Sidney
See Sidney's Movie https://youtu.be/de6XZke9dpM
Reserved, gentle, a little shy and eager to please.
1) Generally
- Good with Other Friendly Dogs at home. Ok with other dogs in the kennel he is in.
- Not Good With Cats.
- OK with Rabbits.
- Good with Kids + 8 yrs due size.
- Toilet Trained.
2) Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
This 'goof ball' big boofer is loyal, affectionate and low maintenance. In fact Sidney thinks he is a rabbit and gets a carrot every morning - partial to apples too. He lives with a Chihuahua and is friendly with the family rabbit. He has a lovely nature.
He is a big doofus at times and can easily get over excited especially when you come home.
As an alpha male he has a protective instinct for his family especially when outside on a walk. He is fine next to other dogs in the kennel he is in. He has never hurt anyone or anything.
Sid is also frightened of fire crackers.
Sidney has been well looked after by his previous owner.
3) Ideal Owner
Singles or couples looking to share fun times with a large, gentle dog who is eager to please and quite the entertainer.
Sidney is ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as he is a central focus when people are home.
We recommend he is the only permanent dog in the home as a precaution.
He prefers the company of people but can cope alone.
As Sidney is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
He will not suit homes with residents that are:
- very young, frail, elderly,
- renters,
- novice dog owners or
- time poor.
4) Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
Sidney will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not.
- someone that works from home.
- part time workers.
- empty nesters.
- active retirees.
- full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as he is a central focus when folks are home.
5) Exercise Requirements
Medium - playful and moderately active.
6) When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he is ok unless distracted. May warn off other dogs and people due to his protective instinct.
7) When OFF a lead ...
Takes off and won't come back.
8) Type of Yard Required
- Medium to large interesting and secure.
- He may take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape.
- He is not destructive as long as he has a stick or toy to chew on.
- Shoulder height fencing is fine.
Located in Perth kennels 6110.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
