About Eric
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Eric is a classic black Labrador 'goof ball' pup still growing into his paws. He is happy, playful, active, obedient, good with dogs/cats and loves kids. As he is excitable we recommend any kids be 12 yrs or older.
Eric has been well looked after and is used to living on a bush block with loads of attention.
Ideal Owner
As a pure bred labrador Eric will appeal to many people but he will thrive with an owner who is active, outdoorsey, home a lot, able to continue with some training and with a large interesting and secure yard.
He will be fine with another friendly permanent dog but this is not essential.
As Eric is people orientated he needs to be part of family activities.
He will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters, full time workers or time poor.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Quiet - rarely makes a sound.
He will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not,
- stay at home parent,
- someone that works from home,
- part time workers,
- empty nesters,
- active retirees.
While he prefers company he can cope alone.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles.
When OFF a lead ...
Stays close by and comes when called.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large interesting and secure. He may take advantage of an open gate and wander off but does not usually try and escape. He has normal Labrador chewing tendencies for his age e.g. shoes etc...
Exercise Requirements
High - will run and run, cannot miss a day.
Good with Other Dogs

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS (simple and easy)
1. Read the dog's detailed profile thoroughly - for you to self screen
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) form MUST be completed prior to a meet and greet.
https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
3. Speak to the carer/owner directly for more detailed info to determine if there are any 'deal breakers' - designed to save time and avoid falsely raising hopes.
4. 'Meet & Greet' - you travel to where the dog is. If you have a current dog it must meet too. We strongly recommend all members of the family attend. Both parties may wish to report their thoughts to each other but MUST update Dog Adoption directly too.
5. The dog MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS have been made e.g. travelling more then 2 hrs round trip. In this case we need a minimum of 2 days notice. The adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the dog.
6. Normally, both parties have a think about the meeting, and if they wish to proceed, the adoption is completed after the adoption agreement, payment and screening is finalised.
7. A 2 week cooling off period commences once the dog arrives.
