About Nelson
My name is Nelson and I am a "lab cross" ha ha ha. I was rescued from a pound as I wasn’t doing very well there at all. The pound employees could see my heart was broken and that I am a very gentle and loving boy who just needs a home of my own. Although I look tough and strong, I am actually very timid and shy (especially with men but I do warm to them when I trust them, so please take some time to get to know me). I am sensitive to situations and loud noises... but... I am very gentle with my mouth when taking food, love cuddles and following you around the house, am lovely to walk and love to play with other friendly puppies and my current foster fur brother. I’ve been tested around cats and they just don’t seem to bother me at all...
I would suit a family who is around a lot as I am a bit anxious and a family who can commit some time to my further training. At the moment I am learning how to sit on my bed when inside and how to sit and lay down. I have a blonde lab brother at the moment who I just love to follow around and I am often found only feet away from him. He won't let me cuddle because of his own issues, but I would love to have a brother or sister I could be close with, or a family to fill that void.
I am located in Noosa, but will happily travel. I love travelling in the car and will go anywhere with you.
I require 6 foot fences because I am 3 years old with a lot of bounce and I need daily walks - 30 minutes is fine... I just love getting out and about.
I am waiting for a special family... come and find me and I'll reward you with endless love!
Adoption details
Please go to the website http://www.rescuealabrador.com/
to submit an adoption application. Please click on the adopt a dog link on the left hand side of the screen and complete the questions if you are interested in adopting aLabrador.
We will not discuss specific dogs with you until you have completed this questionnaire as this allows us to establish which dogs are potential matches for your lifestyle.
Once we have found a suitable match to your family, we will allow you to contact the appropriate foster carer who will discuss the dog in more detail with you.
Once you are both satisfied that this is a good match you will be able to meet the Lab. If all goes well, you will be able to take the dog on a 2 week trial. You will complete the adoption paperwork and pay the adoption fee at this stage.
At the end of the 2 week trial you will be able to adopt the Lab and we will submit the microchip transfer to the council.
