About Spikey
TASMANIAN PEOPLE...
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A WONDERFUL, HAPPY FAMILY MEMBER?
Microchip No: 982009100916334
Located Sandford area of Tasmania.
Handsome 13-year-old Spikey is a delightful old gent who is ready to find a fantastic home where he can live out his days.
Sadly we understand Spikey’s owner could no longer care for him and at almost 13 years of age he found himself at a Pound.
After some pretty extensive veterinary testing it seems Spikey is in pretty good shape for his age and his only real complaint is some arthritic changes consistent with his age. Spikey is currently on pain relief and will need to remain on this in his new home. At a cost of about $10 per month it's a small price to pay to keep Spikey comfortable in his old age. Day to day Spikey is easy to care for. He likes his regular routine, enjoys following you about when you are home and is happy to snooze the day away when not much is happening. Spikey seems most comfortable inside and is beautifully house trained.
We think his perfect home would be with mature people who are home often and willing to leave him inside when they head out themselves. Whilst Spikey prefers to be inside, he's getting used to hanging out outside where he can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
Spikey has spent time in a foster home where he was quick to master the doggy door, so it would be great if this was an option in his new home. Spikey isn't a fan of cats and whilst he's been great with other dogs he doesn't seem particularly dependent on canine company so could likely settle into an only dog home.
There is something very special about an old dog and many consider it a real privilege to care for them. If you can offer Spikey all the good things in life and are ready to enjoy the love and devotion of this gorgeous boy we'd love to hear from you.
Spike is located in the Sandford area of Tasmania and is available for adoption. Spike comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and intestinal worm treated with a ton of love and a gorgeous smile for the right family for a re-homing fee of $200.00.
Medical notes
On pain relief for arthritis ($10/month)
Adoption details
Please go to the website http://www.rescuealabrador.com/
to submit an adoption application. Please click on the adopt a dog link on the left hand side of the screen and complete the questions if you are interested in adopting aLabrador.
We will not discuss specific dogs with you until you have completed this questionnaire as this allows us to establish which dogs are potential matches for your lifestyle.
Once we have found a suitable match to your family, we will allow you to contact the appropriate foster carer who will discuss the dog in more detail with you.
Once you are both satisfied that this is a good match you will be able to meet the Lab. If all goes well, you will be able to take the dog on a 2 week trial. You will complete the adoption paperwork and pay the adoption fee at this stage.
At the end of the 2 week trial you will be able to adopt the Lab and we will submit the microchip transfer to the council.
