Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments or Quirks
Roger is very intelligent and keen to learn. When you rub his chest he will place his paw on your arm and his facial expressions soften with enjoyment. A sweet dog, sometimes cheeky, but eager to please. He likes lots of toys, affection, food and interacting with humans. He is possessive of his food around other dogs but is fine around humans.
Ideal Owner
As Roger is very intelligent he needs mental stimulation like toys and human interaction. We recommend he is the only permanent dog. That way he can have all your attention.
He will not suit homes where residents are very young, frail, elderly, renters or time poor.
Exercise Requirements
Medium - playful and moderately active. Can miss a daily walk if you play at home.
When ON a lead ...
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles.
When OFF a lead ...
Selective hearing. Recall needs some work.
Type of Yard Required
Medium to large or acreage. Secure and interesting.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Ok for full time workers.
Located North Lambton NSW 2299. Applicants within driving distance.

______________________________________
We strongly recommend you read the profile carefully where everything we know about the dog/s is outlined.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner(s). It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog(s).
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we offer a 2 week cooling off period but do not usually allow trials. See here for the difference https://www.dogadoption.org.au/can-my-dogs-new-owner-have-a-trial-period-before-deciding-to-adopt.html
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
