About Jake
PURRSONALITY TRAITS
Hi I'm Jake, that's me at the back hiding behind my brother, Elwood. We are both 3 years old and were adopted from Cat Haven when we were kittens but our owner could no longer keep us because we didn't get along with the other cat in the house, so we'd prefer to be your only furry friends. We need to stay together in a quiet, mature home and Elwood needs to be indoors so that his cute nose is protected from sun damage. We've been staying with our foster family for a few months but we'd really love our own home.
To pass our interview you will need to be very patient with us, we are anxious cats who don't like sudden movements or unexpected noises. We like to hide in our cat caves and will only come out to meet you when you are quiet and still. Once you've sat with us on a few occasions and we've decided that you're okay, we will be ready for smooches.
I love head and neck scratches. Elwood loves all scratches, especially butt scratches and even belly scratches! He likes to sit with our foster mum and snuggle against her leg, I prefer to sit by the window and check out the world outside. Elwood is my protector, if you seem scary he will hiss at you. Leave him alone if he hisses, because if you ignore his warming he might scratch. I'm not brave enough to hiss and scratch, if I'm scared I just hide behind my brother.
Our foster mum thinks we are very beautiful cats and that if you are willing to take some time we will be wonderful friendly family members. Please come meet us at our foster home in Woodvale.
Health Issues
Jake & Elwood both have mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats. They also have a mild case of gingivitis. Dental hygiene may help prevent its development. There are several measures you can take to improve your new cats' dental health. Ask the cat welfare officer who is assisting you for a dental hygiene handout. We have recommended that they stay on a dental hygiene diet.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
