Keep the world’s best pet adoption platform running!
This is probably the nicest ask you’ll receive this tax time. It’s not our style to call you up and ask for money, to fill your mailbox with begging letters and branded pens, or to recruit an army of chuggers to stop you in the street. We run our donation drives on a shoestring to maximise the impact of your gifts - to keep the world’s best pet adoption platform running, and to help save the lives of thousands of rescue pets every month. Please take one minute to help keep PetRescue here for everyone who needs us. Thank you.
Hello there. It seems you like visiting PetRescue. That's great!
It's a little awkward to ask, but we need your help. We don’t invest huge amounts of funds and resources in fundraising. We’re a small but growing team of pet-loving techies who look at the big picture and create radical change that improves outcomes for rescue pets Australia-wide. We depend on donations, but only 0.05% of visitors to the PetRescue website give. If you donate just $3, less than the price of a morning coffee, you can help keep PetRescue thriving and free for everyone who needs it. Thank you.

It feels a little awkward to say this, but we need your help.
You’re probably thinking PetRescue will be fine if you don’t give anything today. Because someone else always gives, right? But only 0.05% of visitors to PetRescue donate. And here's the thing... If every pet lover using the website donated just $15 this tax time, in less than one week we'd raise enough funds to make sure we’re here for another year - helping more people like you and thousands more rescue pets in need. So, if PetRescue is useful to you, please take a moment to help. Thank you.
Give up just one cup to help rescue pets every month.
It only takes a minute, and as little as $3 a month (a very reasonably priced coffee), to give rescue pets the very best chance of finding the love and care they need for life.

With a little time to get to know his humans, Badger has shown himself to be the world’s biggest fan of pats. He likes good strong pats on his neck (he’ll stretch it out like a giraffe), smooth scritches on his chin (he’ll tip his head back like an emu), gentle strokes up and down his spine (he’ll arch like a cartoon cat), and firm scratches above his tail (he’ll lean on you, lift up his tail, and dance side to side like nothing you’ve seen!). Badger will never leave you wondering how he is feeling – he loves to show off his happy moods with a waggy tail and a bit of a happy gallop! He relishes being in your company and likes to keep an eye on you from the corner or a doorway when you don’t have hands free for a proper pat.
Badger loves a play and will investigate lots of different kinds of toys – he likes little soft toys and balls the best but will happily give anything a try once! His zoomies leave lazier hounds in the dust, and he will always keep you amused with his antics – he likes to play bow to his chew treats to invite them to play with him, stare intently at them for a moment, and then gleefully throw them up into the air to encourage them to join in the fun.
Badger has a curious soul, and loves to sniff out the news on walks as well as wander in the garden. He walks on a lovely loose lead and interacts well with other dogs he has met so far. He loves his greyhound foster sister to bits, and has been learning a lot from her about pet life. He has previously lived alone and coped well with his humans being away for typical working hours, but ideally would like a canine friend who can help him to keep improving his confidence.
In terms of training, Badger has been picking up tricks left, right, and centre – and all in a very short amount of time. As well as learning his name and to walk on a loose lead Badger has learned how to ‘wait’, to ‘touch’ a target, to ‘hunt’ for treats, to ‘look’ at you, to ‘come’, and to ‘leave’. He has also been hard at work learning that people are fun, friendly, and sources of food, and still needs some support with low-stress introductions to new people. He would love for you to keep up this training, and is very food-motivated which makes him easy to work with - his foster carers will walk you through his tricks when you meet him. He loves the process of learning, and a few short training sessions or a good gallivant leave him ready to show off his most important trick – seeking out the sunlight for a snooze! He is just starting to roach for his foster carers – a happy move which involves rolling around on his back with his legs in the air – and as his adoptive family you will be able to watch him really blossom into pet life.
He has already shown his foster carers that every ounce of patience and kindness will be repaid tenfold with joy and affection - now he is waiting for his forever home where he can show you all the love he has to give!
