About Holly - Dingo
Hi my name is Holly and I love love love cuddles! I'm always looking for a cheek to lick or waiting patiently for pat, looking up at you with my big puppy eyes. I love my humans and all the shelter volunteers say I'm an absolute sweetheart, cheeky and playful with a soft, affectionate side.
I'm an outgoing confident little lady (just like my brothers who have all found homes!) and have started basic leash training at the shelter, I can also sit (I am very food motivated).
I love walks, and would make a great companion for an active family who love bush walks and maybe even camping! Kids over 5 only please as I am an energetic 18kg!
I would love a home with a canine companion to goof around with but I could also go to home on my own with the right family. Right now I just want out of the shelter and to get to settle in with a family of my own. My brothers have all found their homes, and so it must be my turn!
Background: I have been in care with a human family since I was found as a pup in bush at just 3 weeks old, the people who found me believe I was an orphan. Sadly they couldn't take care of me, so when I was 7 months old I came to Sydney Dingo Rescue with my brothers to find fur-ever homes.
No cats or pocket pets please unless they can be kept separately.
Fencing (ask us if you need a hand! We're here to help and can dingo proof almost any yard):
Holly is a high content dingo.
A high content dingo typically has two dingo parents or a large amount of dingo genetics (75% or higher). High content dingoes are sometimes known as “pure dingoes”. High content dingoes have much stricter fencing requirements due to their climbing ability. You will need ONE OR MORE of the follow BEFORE an adoption trial for a high content dingo can begin.
- A 2.2m colour-bond or paling fence with nothing leaning against or near the fence line
- A 1.8m fence (of any sturdy material) with a 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing (see here: https://sanctuarysos.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/cat-proof-fence-barrier-to-keep-cats-safe-in-the-garden.jpg ).
- A dog enclosure at least 1.8m high with either a full roof or 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing. Must be at least 25m square (for instance 5m x 5m or 8m x 3m)
- Mesh, concrete or similar around the base of the fence may also be required
Some manufacturers of pre-made dog enclosures include:

Another option is using construction fencing style panels from bunnings or welded mesh sheets and posts.
