About Whinnie <3
I would love to introduce Whinnie! Whinnie is a favourite in the rescue for a plethora of reasons. She came to us after she was found wondering the streets for weeks after her owners went to jail. Whinnie was in one of THE worst conditions we have seen in the rescue. 70% of her skin had calcified and turned to leather. She had open sores that encased the whole surface area of her stomach, She had little to no fur left, just tufts here and there .. and the SMELL of her skin infection was too strong to bare. It was clear she has been bred over and over and over as her mammaries were so distorted and swollen.
Her amazing foster mumma researched and researched how to help her as the vets feared there would be little we could do to regrow her coat and her skin would barely improve. She made a brew of chamomile tea and infused it into a hand made oatmeal bath. Twice a week we soaked her in this organic soothing remedy. Boy oh Boy! Her skin started softening immediately, her fur has grown back across 75% of her body, she looks like a new woman!
Despite all of this, Whinnie remains to be the sweetest little pork chop you could imagine. Her foster mumma had to teach her how to eat meats as she had never seen them before! Whinnie loves her foster sister, a large lab called Molly. The 2 play daily which has brought the spirit and joy back into Whinnies life. She loves swimming in the lake, LOVES her baths, is very much a lap dog and is great with everyone.
Due to her trauma and her now new lease on life, we are looking for a very specific home for her. We are looking for somone possibly retired or who works from home or who can take whinnie to the office. She needs to spend the second half of her life WITH her hoomans and not in a cage. She is so affectionate and cheeky and writing this makes me well up knowing that we have to even let her go. We are desperate to keep her but to keep her means we can not save others. To keep her means we are trapping the love for ourselves and not sharing her with someone else which is unjust for Whinnie needs to be spoiled for the incredible girl she is.
please see medical notes
Medical notes
Whinnie wil need to remain on a specific diet and continue her soothing baths for the rest of her days to keep her skin soft and supple and prevent any reoccuring leathering. She loves them so its so easy to do. We will not adopt her to someone who says they will do them just to adopt her. It is very important she be kept on a strict regime that SHE LOVES that also benefits her.
