About Hendrik
Hi! I am Hendrik. I like walks around the house at night and playing with feathers. While I do come across as shy, I'm actually playful and a little quirky! I have been in my foster home for a few months now and have taken my time settling in. I have had a hard time of late you see, so have a few issues trusting new people.
When I first arrived I was a bit put out by all the changes in my life and my foster parents didn't see or hear from me for a few weeks. I was biding my time to see what kind of people they were. I am slowly coming out of my shell and letting them in more - I have been observing them as they sleep for a while now, they seem to think it's a little creepy... but I am just trying to get to know them.
I like my own space, Iike most cats. I spend most of the day sleeping, I am quite happy to do my own thing while you do yours, I am an independent young man after all. At night, once the house has quietened down, I come out and explore a little, eat my dinner, and then hang with my foster parents, they usually watch me roll around on the carpet, playing with toys, I do a very good Meerkat impression up on my back legs! I am very fond of feathers, my foster mum has brought me home peacock feathers and I absolutely loved them! (I may have loved them so much they no longer resembled feathers...)
I can be a little grumpy sometimes when I feel liberties are being taken, and will be best suited to a home with adults or older children. Come and meet me, while I admit I can be a bit aloof sometimes, if you take the time to get to know me, you will see my beautiful purrsonality under the 'tough guy' act.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
