About Floyd
Floyd is an unusual mix of breeds. He is a happy friendly dog who was a bit fearful when he came from the pound. Floyd is still not comfortable having the underside of his body touched and he can be possessive of toys and bones. Floyd gets excited to go for a walk. He pulls on lead but ignores cars and ignores most other dogs. He walks at a good pace and loves a jog. He also enjoys pats and cuddles from volunteers and jumps up to lick your face. He sits on command. Volunteers say "Floyd is a beautiful boy who loves to explore and play." "Really good nature - loves treats and sits for them!" "Very eager, pulls on lead a lot but easy to manage if firm", "Floyd was a very nice dog to spend time with. Super friendly and happy" He has a short coat and weighs about 16kg
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE: Many people grow up with, or own a dog who has had no bad experiences in life. A dog who is confident and well rounded. However, many rescue dogs have not been as lucky in their lives.
Unfortunately, some rescue dogs have been physically abused, neglected and left traumatised. These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience in rehabilitating traumatised dogs with an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
Suit Full Time Worker: Not overly needy and can entertain itself. DR recommends play time, dog toys etc.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
Medical notes
He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
