About Ivar (Bonded Pair -On Hold Adoption Fee Paid)
Ivar is a fun, energetic, sweet and cuddly young kitty who needs someone that is looking for lifetime of head rubs, chin scratches and loyal companionship. He has a playful nature & loves to chase his favourite toy....the stick from his old favourite toy! Ivar is all black with a small white throat patch. He is also by far the biggest in his litter.
Ivar can also be very quiet at times but don't let that fool you because once given the chance he really comes into his own and lets his purrsonality shine! He loves to sit right against your leg waiting for his favourite pats, head rubs! But be warned if you fail to give in to his adorable charms and pat him he will let you know, with his mighty little roar, that he needs attention!
Because he is very high energy but also slightly reserved he would be well suited to a home with older children or someone who gets a lot of enjoyment out of play time with their kitten!
When it comes to other pets, Ivar is well socialised and gets along great with the cats and large dogs in his foster home. The first day he left the kitten room in his new foster home he ran right up to the German Shepherd of the house and sniffed her face. So brave!
Ivar is noticeably bonded with his sister, Princess. The two can always be found playing together, eating next to each other or sleeping on top of each other! So if you're looking for two kittens, Ivar and Princess would love to go to a furrever home together!
Ivar left his mother at the age of 11 weeks so had a wonderful beginning to life with mum on a top-notch diet providing quality milk. He was weaned onto very good kitten food too so is a very healthy boy.
**IVAR comes with a $40 Voucher from Edgewater Vet for anything at all from consult or next year's vaccination to surgery.**
For his safety and your own peace of mind Ivar needs to be an indoor-only cat, although a secure cat enclosure would be a wonderful bonus for him. But an enriched household (with cat towers, scratchers & plenty of toys), some good window seats & views of outside perhaps with a screen door or window to look through & sniff the breeze, and lots of attention should be adequate. Ivar is an active boy and would love to have furry members of the family to play with but would be ok as an only pet with humans who love to spend time with him.
Located in Cloverdale.
Medical notes
Ivar has had a vet check, both vaccinations and has been microchipped and sterilised. He is eating a very high quality diet which this Rescue provides for all animals in its care which we will ask the adoptive family to continue feeding.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me with your email address so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing mainly covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future, near or far, where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to, in which case please let us know.
If the animal is returned to us at this later stage there is no refund.
