About Astrid ($40 Vet Voucher Incl)
Astrid is exceptionally affectionate and will climb up your chest to get the prime position, tucking herself under your chin. She also loves to lie against your cheek while she gives the sweetest little kitten kisses and nibbles as she gets herself comfortable. She's an unusual, gorgeous calico girl - mostly white with head colour patches and a wide-barred striped tail in all 3 colours.
While small in stature, little Astrid LOVES to eat; it is her favourite time of day next to cuddle time!
And don't worry, if you're late for lunch, she will let you know with her sweet singing in the kitchen!
A real purrer, Astrid is always happy to see you, instantly wanting to cuddle up with you.
Astrid would suit someone who is a homebody looking for a very cuddly lap cat with plenty of time for quiet cuddles on the couch. She is also very comfortable with children, allowing the carer's excitable 6yo relative to carry her around, and she gets along well with the other cats and large dogs in her foster home.
Astrid left her mother at 11 weeks old so had a wonderful beginning to life with mum on a top-notch diet providing quality milk. She was weaned onto very good kitten food too so is a very healthy girl.
**ASTRID comes with a $40 Voucher from Edgewater Vet for anything at all from consult or next year's vaccination to surgery.**
For her safety and your own peace of mind Astrid needs to be an indoor-only cat, although a secure cat enclosure would be a wonderful bonus for her. But an enriched household (with cat towers, scratchers & plenty of toys), some good window seats & views of outside perhaps with a screen door or window to look through & sniff the breeze, and lots of attention should be adequate. Astrid is an active girl and would love to have furry members of the family to play with but would be ok as an only pet with humans who love to spend time with her.
Located in Cloverdale.
Medical notes
Astrid has had a vet check, both vaccinations and has been microchipped and sterilised. She is eating a very high quality diet which this Rescue provides for all animals in care and which we will ask the adoptive family to continue feeding.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me with your email address so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing mainly covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future, near or far, where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to, in which case please let us know.
If the animal is returned to us at this later stage there is no refund.
