About Elvis
Elvis is a bit of an enigma who will require the right person to adopt him. He was abandoned on a country road and had been hit by a car. He was taken to the local vet who found he had one of his hind legs broken in 3 places so he had to have that leg amputated. When he came into care he was a sweetheart - very easy going, no dramas - even took his meds with no problems. He really loves to snuggle up on the lounge while you watch telly and just loves being brushed. However, he gets very jealous and can turn on you at a moment's notice - he'll grab your arm or leg and dig in his claws or gnaw you with his teeth. It's not always as bad as it sounds but he does require a stern hand. Our policy is to house all foster cats indoors but as Elvis is a special case we allow him to be outdoors as this gives him freedom from the other foster cats. He is very protective of his territory and will chase other cats away. He would make an excellent "shed cat" for someone on a property who is willing to give him a chance. Don't let the thought of him only having 3 legs put you off - he can run very fast. If you give him a chance he can give you a lot of love. Because of his behaviour we recommend he not be around young children and he is best being an only cat. Please give this sweet boy a chance. Elvis is desexed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He is located in Yeppoon, Central QLD near Rockhampton.
Medical notes
Elvis is a healthy boy but does have some behaviour problems as advised above. On advice from our local vet we got him an injection of Depo Provera 150mg 1ml x 0.5 which did improve his behaviour but he can still be a bit feisty. Ongoing Provera injections may help.
