About Dusty
In order to meet Dusty please complete this form https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
Located Footscray VIC 3011.
Generally.
Dusty is a friendly, loyal and playful young girl. Good with dogs, cats and people plus good on and off the lead. Dusty is a rare find indeed. Always pleased to see you she will greet you with loads of enthusiasm when you get home. She is affectionate and thrives on attention.
Ideal home.
Dusty will appeal to many families but ideally she will suit a home where she will be involved with her family. Folks who work from home, families with older kids, and active retirees would be well suited to Dusty. She will make a devoted and loyal companion.
She will not suit homes where residents are very young, elderly, frail, time poor or looking for a baby sitter for a current dog.
Other dogs?
Yes. Dusty visits an off lead park most days. She is friendly and playful, enjoying a game of chase with another dog.
Cats?
Yes.
Kids?
As Dusty is a friendly young girl she might knock a small child over. She does jump up when excited. We recommend any kids be teenagers or older and only if gentle and calm around animals.
Size.
15 kgs. Strong for her size.
Exercise requirements?
Medium - playful and moderately active. Dusty is forgiving if you miss a day but prefers a daily outing. As soon as you put your runners on she is up for a walk.
How is this dog on a lead?
Like most dogs, Dusty is ok unless distracted.
How is this dog off the lead?
She usually stays close by and comes when called.
Escape artist?
This is unknown as she is currently living in an apartment. We recommend a medium sized secure yard.
Nuisance barker or destructive?
Dusty has never had the opportunity to live in a back yard for any length of time. She barks at fireworks but is not currently a nuisance barker. In an attempt to gain your attention she may steal your socks but only so you will start a game of chase.
Toilet trained?
Yes.
Tolerance to being alone.
She would prefer to have someone around but will happily snooze the day away if alone.
Likes.
Dusty loves running in the dog park, playing tug of war with her toy tyre and riding in the car with her head out of the window. Most of all she likes the company of her human family and will sit right next to you if allowed.
Dislikes.
Fireworks, thunder and skateboards. Dusty barks and gets rather upset.

______________________________________
We strongly recommend you read the profile carefully where everything we know about the dog/s is outlined.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
