About Finn
I am an amazing little character! My personality has developed into a cheeky one. I just adore being stroked. I also nibble & lick you when I'm excited and headbutting & smooching you; it's not hard enough to hurt but small children might be afraid of me. My foster mum is training me out of the bitey habit and I'm getting much better at controlling myself now!
I came here with my 3 brothers and my mum when I was only a few days old and I've grown up with a lot of other cats and some friendly dogs too, so I will fit into most households. I am what my foster mum calls "skittish", which means I play it safe & hide at the prospect of danger (like when the dogs bark because someone is at the door) and also means I don't like meeting strangers but I know FOR SURE NOW! that once I do get to know you I'll be super-friendly just like I am here with my foster mum. I'm very bold in my natural surroundings!
*And here is an interesting EDIT !!* I was recently evacuated due to bushfire and placed in a small cattery room with all my sibs and with nowhere to really hide, where my wonderful carer took only ONE day to get her first pat in, and soon she was allowed to pet me whenever she wanted to. And when I got home again I settled right back in without a moment's pause. So with the proper introduction it won't take me long at all to become friends with my new family members!
I've turned into a super-handsome dude! I started out being plain black and white but my face and front legs became lighter with faint stripes. Even the underside of my tail has pale stripes. Now I'm a very pretty smoke & white. The black parts of my coat are actually silver white near my skin, so if I had a buzz cut I'd be a white cat! It's a sensational look in real life.
I'm beautifully slinky & slim with long legs and really look like a thoroughbred of cats.
I ask when I want interaction and I have 2 favourite cat stands at just the right height so you can see me and stop to give me a stroke & a cuddle. I also stand on my hind legs with forepaws on your leg and ask for strokes & scritches and get onto the computer table to see if you want to pat me when you're sitting there - but I don't get all in your face if you're busy and only have time for a quick head scratch. I just find something else to do with my foster brothers or toys. I love, love, love playing with the other fosters and resident cats here.
It would be super awesome if I could be adopted with another cat from here ♥ but I probably wouldn't mind meeting your cat or even a cat-friendly dog!
For his safety and your own peace of mind, Finn must be an indoor-only cat, although a secure cat enclosure would be a wonderful bonus for him. (His pale pink nose makes him very susceptible to skin cancer there.) But an enriched household (with cat towers, scratchers & plenty of toys), some good window seats & views of outside perhaps with a screen door or window to look through & sniff the breeze, and lots of attention should be adequate. It might be that Finn would be fine without any pets in the house as long as he gets human family attention.
Located in Yanchep.
Medical notes
Finn is wormed regularly. He is eating a very nourishing, high quality diet so that he developed to his fullest potential both physically and mentally and we will ask the adoptive family to continue feeding a similar quality. He has had both vaccinations, microchip and has been sterilised. Finn was tested for FIV & Feline Leukemia and is Negative to both. He is in vibrant good health!
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing partially covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future, near or far, where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to, in which case please let us know.
