Meet Jed & Joey, a pair of 10 old pugs that are looking for their forever home. We don’t know too much about their history as their owner passed away but they seem to have been well loved and well fed!
Although Jed & Joey have lived together, we feel that they would be fine adopted out separately. Jed can be a bit bossy towards Joey. They both enjoy the quiet life and you will often find them snoozing on the couch.
Jed & Joey are good with older kids. They just love to hang out with the family. If you’re inside, they’ll be inside. If you wander out the back, they will follow. They sleep inside either on their dog bed or on the couch.
They are not much barkers but they do get excited when you first get home and will let off a few barks at dinner time because food is very exciting to them! Jed will bark at Joey occasionally asserting his authority and Jed will also bark at thunder (thunder did not care).
Being Pugs they have a funny personality but can also be quite stubborn. They will sit for a food reward but otherwise will do as they please. I would be wary of letting them off the leash due to their stubborn nature, they will only return when they feel like it.
Being 10 years old, they certainly prefer the quiet life and love lounging around the house. They would suit someone who is either retired or someone who works part time. They don’t seem too fussed to be left alone for short periods of time.
For more information or to meet Joey and Jed, please contact their foster carer Leah on firstname.lastname@example.org. Jed and Joey are in foster care in Kotara, NSW and are available for adoption interstate.
Joey and Jed’s adoption fee is $300 and they is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Happy and healthy dogs
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
