Medium Male Staffy Dog
- Rescue group:
- ACT Rescue and Foster (ARF) Inc.
- PetRescue ID:

Buddy is a real character with a sense of humour. He is very friendly and fun loving. Buddy seems to have missed out on a lot of companionship and training in his past homes, appearing to have been left outside without a lot of interaction. While in ARF Buddy has been undergoing training and socialisation and is doing extremely well. He likes to be wherever his family is.
Buddy is currently living on the farm socialising with other dogs, cats, chooks, cows and horses, which he had not been around before. While Buddy is now pretty good around them I would not leave him unattended. He is a real goofball and just likes to play. He particularly likes games with toys and water.
Buddy has basic training, he is good on lead, sits well and waits for his food. He is good inside and in the car. Buddy is crate trained and sleeps well in his crate at night.
If you are a good leader, interested in training and want a dog with a great sense of humour, Buddy may be the dog for you. He would make a great running partner. Due to his play being a bit boisterous at times he would not suit a home with children.
If you would like to adopt a dog from ARF, there are a few things that need to happen before you can take your new best friend home.
First, the foster carer will talk with you about your lifestyle and the sort of dog you are looking for. They’ll then visit your home to conduct a yard check and they may suggest a trial period. If both you and the foster carer are happy and wish to proceed, both parties will complete an adoption agreement.
It is important to realise that ARF is not a ‘shop’ where dogs are sold on a first come, first served basis. We consider ourselves more like a ‘matchmaking’ service where dogs are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the dog’s (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the dog goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual dog. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right ARFer for you.
All ARF dogs are microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, wormed, and health-checked.
To help cover our costs, ARF asks an adoption fee of:
Puppies aged under 16 weeks (C3 vaccination) – $400 – includes $100 contribution to puppy classes
Dogs aged 16 weeks to 8yrs (C5 vaccination) – $350
Dogs aged over 8yrs (C5 vaccination) – $150
Please contact the foster carer directly if you’d like to meet one of the dogs listed here.
