About Jamie **On Trial With My New Family**
Jamie is the ray of sunshine you've been searching for. Always up for an adventure, this sweet boy is one of a kind and we're so excited to help find him his new home. He is SUPER intelligent and so it goes without saying that he'll need a VERY experienced and dedicated new home. Being a working breed, enrichment will be the focus of his days. He loves sniffing for treats, chasing balls and toys and will create his own fun if not being entertained, preparation is key! He currently gets two outings a day, one long walk in the morning and a play at the local dog park in the evening once its nice and cool. At 8 months old he's a little over 10kgs and we don't think he's going to get much bigger then around 13-15kgs. Perfect cuddle size!
Jamie travels fantastically in the car but he isn't suitable off lead as he gets too intrigued with interesting smells! He's just began tracking with DogsWest and he's doing fantastically! He's a pocket rocket and very eager to work! He's a regular at the local dog beach and is always courteous and friendly with everyone he meets. Even on lead! He currently lives with a large female dog and foster sisters who he plays with all day long. He needs a home with another playful dog to help burn some of his unlimited supply of energy. He will not be suitable with an older dog as he's too hyper. Jamie has lived with foster cats however he is much too intent and we recommend a home without cats and poultry. Jamie loves children and will be fine in a home with kids 8+.
Jamie's day starts when the sun comes up... Currently that's at 5am *gasp* and he will let his carer (affectionately) know that its time to head to the beach, or the dog park, or just a walk around the neghbourhood. He's up for all the things. Upon his return he will chase the balls, defluff the toys and tuck into his breakfast with gusto. But if you think he's up for a nap just yet, you're wrong! He will practice some of his tricks, snuffle through his snuffle mat or get started on his frozen Kong.
Jamie's current carer works full time but thankfully due to the company of the other doggos, he copes without human company during the day. Its imperative he has access inside the house though or he'll howl alllllllll day. Luckily he's out of his chewing phase and he's also toilet trained! He's a little champion.
We're looking for a home where Jamie will be included in everything possible. He loves going in the car and he'd be an ideal running buddy as he's got quite a high paced walk/jog. He's polite with people and other dogs, and is quite happy to ignore others when out and about. He'd be fantastic at obedience or tracking and would thrive in a home where he'd be taught tricks. Jamie is not your average dog, he is FULL of beans. His carer is an experienced carer having had all sorts of foster dogs over the last 8 years and he is by far the most energetic, intelligent and hyper dog she has EVER had. It's imperative that you stop and think 'can I keep Jamie occupied, do I have the hours and hours he needs every day, do I have the experience/lifestyle'. He will need loads of enrichment and toys to keep him busy... Think puzzle games and treat toys where he has to use his beautiful little noggin.

Please note that Jamie will need a very specific home due to his energy. Although beautiful and sweet natured, Jamie doesn't have an off button. He is constantly doing something and so its important that he goes to a home where his needs can be met. Working breeds aren't for the faint hearted and he will need ongoing enrichment for life or he will just bark and dig all day.
Medical notes
Jamie was run over as a very young puppy and had multiple fractures in his pelvis. He had surgery and rehab and is now back to full health. His new home will however need to be conscious of this previous injury and ensure he isn't over exercised and is never over-weight.
