Hi there! My name's Emmett and I'm a bit less than a year old. I used to be a bit of a scaredy-cat around people I didn't know but I've come out of my shell and no longer hide under my foster mum's bed when someone else comes to the house. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an extravert: I'm still cautious, I'm just not afraid any more. Now I'm ready to move to a forever home.
I'm still young and don't have lots of world experience. I've been a solo cat most of my short life and I haven't had the opportunity to play with other animals, but I think I might like to. When my foster mum scratches me (which I looooove) I sometimes try to turn it into cat rough-and-tumble play. I think I might like being with another animal so I can play with them, once I'm used to them! My foster mum thinks my kitten-play might scare young kids because I bite and use my claws - but she knows it's cat-play and I'm not trying to hurt her, so teenagers would be ok.
People say that I'm very handsome. My tabby fur is quite long (truly, my tail is glorious) so, while I love to lie on my foster mum, or next to her, I'm finding it a bit hot so I lie nearby instead. Until I need another scratch, then I go back to her. She goes to work during the week and I'd be happier in a home where I had more company. I'm not a chatty cat, and don't meow often at all. When I talk, I make a rumbly purr-trill sound that my mum thinks is really sweet.
Come and meet me in my foster home in Willagee and you'll see how adorable I am.
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
