About Yuki
I’m just bursting to find my furever home and am really hoping I will find somebody who loves and cares for me as much as my Foster Mum.
I love kids and it would be best if my family had bigger kids because in my enthusiasm I might accidentally knock young children over. I secretly hope you have another dog I can play with as well. Both big and small dogs seem to like my company and I absolutely love them both, but am better suited to larger dogs … I don’t mean to but I can get a bit carried away with little dogs and accidentally hurt them (either that or the one I spend a lot of time with is a drama queen). Cats and I don’t hate each other but I think I’m way too energized by them for us to be pals.
My Foster Mum is sure that whoever adopts me will love my goofy mannerisms. She often laughs at the way I try to get her attention … like laying all over her when she’s trying to paint or nuzzling my muzzle into her hands, because I’m such an affectionate boy. My puppy dog eyes will make you laugh and melt at the same time, as I know how to use them to my benefit.
You will be impressed by the way I sit, shake hands, lay down (although this is my least favourite trick, Foster Mum seems to like it so I do it begrudgingly), go round in a circle, stay, jump on command and come. Foster Mum does this thing where she calls “Middle” and I have to run and sit between her legs. She does this every time she wants me to take medication or get ready to go for walks. I love to get pats, especially on my tummy … and who doesn’t love a good old ear massage! I’m getting so good at listening to Foster Mum when she tells me to do things because I love to be praised or get doggy treats.
I’ve become so good at not jumping but will need consistency with praise and affection when I don’t jump to ensure I don’t fall back into bad habits. Foster Mum can’t believe how good at walking on a leash I am! I used to be a bit stubborn with this and try to pull but I’ve learnt that I have to follow her rules. I know I have to stop at an intersection before I cross because she says “Prepare to stop … stay” and then when the road is safe she tells me to “Come”. I like it how she makes sure I’m safe from those dreaded cars.
I’m very food orientated but have become so well trained that Foster Mum puts the food in front of me and even scatters some (to stop me from guzzling it down so fast) and I know I’m not allowed to eat until she gives the command. Being a dog can be such hard work as there are so many rules but I know it makes my Mum really happy and perhaps it will for you too.
I really enjoy and need the stimulation of chew toys and I also love a good game of tug-of-war … sometimes I take it easy on my Foster Mum and let her win, and other times I’m very competitive. I love to ‘jog’ to get a ball, as I’m not the most energetic of dogs. I actually prefer to see you try and get it from me … as it’s so much fun seeing if I can keep it by hiding behind things like tables.
If I sound like the very well-mannered and exceptionally handsome doggo you've been looking for, enquire about me today!
