Kaleesi ~ Great Dane
Beautiful shy girl
Large Female Great Dane Dog
- Rescue group:
- Dog Rescue Newcastle
- PetRescue ID:
- New South Wales
Introducing Kaleesi, a 4 year old Great Dane girl who is stunning in both looks and nature. She has a sleek dark silver coat, adorably floppy ears and different coloured eyes which compliment her already striking looks.
Kaleesi is a sweet giant with long gangly legs which she bounds around on whilst playing with squeaky toys or balls with bells in them. Even though she's almost 4 years old she still acts very much like a puppy when playing. She loves her squeaky toys and she'll have you giggling at her goofy antics in no time !
Kaleesi is very shy when meeting new people, particularly with men. She prefers meeting new women and will turn into a mushy love-bug once she knows you. She will flop on her back next to you (or in your lap if she thinks she can fit!) and push at you with her nose to give her pats or tummy rubs. She loves a good back scratch on the grass and will kick out her legs in joy.
Kaleesi will best suit a home with a single person or couple without young kids due to her shyness, size and zest for affection. Her ideal home will preferably be one with females or very kind and gentle men. Older teenagers in the house may be OK if they have experience with shy dogs and are willing to give her as much space as is required to win her heart.
Kaleesi is a smart girl who will bound up to you and "drop" in a heartbeat as soon as treats are on offer. She does know how to "sit" but in her enthusiasm she prefers to flop into a drop and look at you eagerly for a treat please ! She loves her food and is bubbly in her eagerness to please you. She walks nicely on lead and enjoys a daily stroll. She does like to have a bark at other dogs and men at times so she will require some positive lead training once settled into her new home.
Kaleesi loves her creature comforts and must be allowed inside when her family are home and to sleep inside. She is a couch potato once she's had her playtime frolics so her favourite place will be lounging around in the house with you. She is quite dominant with other dogs so she's ideally suited as a solo dog or with another friendly male large dog who will tolerate her female bossiness at times. At this stage we don't believe she's had exposure to cats, chickens, small dogs or pocket pets.
If you’d like to find out more about beautiful Kaleesi then please contact Jo on email firstname.lastname@example.org . Kaleesi is in foster care near Morisset, (NSW Central Coast) and is not available for long distance or interstate adoption.
Kaleesi's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
When she first came in foster care Kaleesi had a cut on her foot which was infected - she has gone through a series of antibiotics to treat the infection and does have a lump on her foot from the old wound.
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
