About Billie
**APPLICATION PENDING**
Billie girl has a zest for life that is as endearing as her stunning looks. A good natured girl with the kind of curiosity and cleverness you’d expect from her Koolie breeding.
Billie gets along well with her 3 kelpie foster siblings, and tunes into each of them in line with their personalities. She adores inciting a chasing game with her robust kelpie foster brother, shadows and mimics every move of her super cool foster sister, and respectfully provides space to her bossy kelpie foster sister! Billie can be a bit wary at first meeting a new doggie friend, but with her human on her side, it doesn’t take her long to relish in her new mate. Oh the merriment she and her doggie friends will enjoy!
Billie adores her humans equally as much as her canines, and would be just as happy getting all the attention to herself as an only dog. She can be a little startled by new experiences and change, but with an owner that supports her by providing clear boundaries, consistency and a touch of patience, Billie will go from strength to strength. Billie has learnt to sit and wait for her dinner until released. She comes when called (every dog needs a reminder from time to time!). Walking through the paddocks, she naturally wants to heel, and you know she’s still there because of the reassuring nosey poke she gives you on your leg every now and then. Billie walks very well on lead, and exercise aimed at mentoring Billie will see her blossom into a super special companion. Billie has her own self confidence, and this coupled with her circumspect nature means she at times is modest with her affection. Once you are Billie’s trusted mate however, you will be richly rewarded – Billie will implore you for a cherished scratch behind the ears, or will gently snuggle her forehead into your legs for a cuddle.
Billie is good with the chooks and behaves around the horses. Billie follows along closely when taken out horse riding and is easy to whistle back and keep alongside. Billie is a Koolie for sure - machinery, mowers and even rowdy dog play can see Billie become almost a touch too vibrant! Billie does calm readily in a routine that encourages her to settle. Billie loves travelling in the car, jumping in the ute tray and riding in to town or accompanying you anywhere. She is generally quiet waiting in the car while you run errands, but occasionally barks at those suspicious looking strangers that go by!
Billie hangs out happily around the workshop when you are busy during the day, and finds a cosy spot just out of the way of the goings on, to snooze when not much is happening. Billie relishes her special spot to settle down on the deck in the evening. She quietly sleeps in her kennel and dog yard at night, and only a little whimper and bark can be heard when she hears the household stir in the morning, as she eagerly awaits you to collect her and let her join in the fun of the day!
Billie is fostered on acreage in a quiet area with only farm fencing. She does not wander when home with human company. Billie is a Koolie with smarts and plenty of get up and go, so she does need a secure spot when left home alone. Billie would suit an individual, couple, or family with older children. She will do best with owners that have time to spend with her, and a commitment to engaging her keen mind.
A beautiful dog, inside and out, Billie girl with her unique looks and charismatic personality, can’t wait to find that special person to be truly hers’ forever.
