Max doesn't believe in just coasting though life - he does everything with his whole heart and soul.
For starters, he is the smoochiest boy you will ever meet. When he thinks a pat is on offer he would walk over hot coals (or his sleeping foster sisters' heads!) to get to you. He has quickly picked up the 'no paws on the couch' rule in our house, but lets us know his opinions on this by leaning his head and chest on our laps so that his front paws dangle in the air! When we are sitting outside he will balance himself half up and half down the raised garden bed so he is perfectly positioned for an ear scratch. We challenge you to look into his big soulful eyes and not need to give him a cuddle stat.
When it comes to playing, Max hasn't yet met a toy he doesn't like. He has been hard at work showing off how well he can catch rope toys, chase balls, and gallivant around with his pillow pets. It is a pleasure to watch him bow and toss his toys in the air.
He also loves a short walk, particularly one on a nice sunny day with lots of opportunities to sniff out the local news. He walks on a lovely loose lead, is fully toilet trained, and is quickly learning commands like 'wait' and 'leave', to touch a target with his nose and to respond to his name. He really enjoys learning new tricks and is very food motivated so will try his hardest for any sort of treat you have to tempt him with.
Max has met a few children and thinks they are nothing to worry about. He would love to live with another greyhound or large dog who will play with him and keep him company while you are at work.
After any kind of activity, Max loves to throw himself into his snoozing. Come bedtime he settles himself down on his mat and dreams the night away without a peep.
He's looking forward to meeting his forever supplier of cuddles!
