About Jo-Jo- Dingo X
Hi there my name is Jo-Jo and I'm a clown! I love to goof around, play and nudge for pats. I'm not too demanding though, I just want someone to love and laugh at my antics.
The volunteers at the shelter say I'm an exceptionally quiet fella' and they've never heard me bark though I do howl along with the other dingoes from time to time.
I walk well on lead and know how to sit (if you have a treat for me!) I'm ok in the car and I like to splash and paddle in rivers/dams.
I was rescued from an abuse/neglect situation and so I am a very sensitive soul who needs lots of TLC and patience. I get a bit worried and growl about certain things like being tightly hugged or held still as I think something bad is going to happen- but the rescue's lovely trainer can continue working with you to help me over come my fears.
I'm looking for a relaxed, quiet home (older kids 15+ only as Im very strong and boisterous and can be easily startled), I want nothing more than to sleep at your feet or beside you on the couch. I'm friendly with other female dogs my size but I'm a bit too rough and boisterous for small dogs and need a home with no cats, birds or pocket pets.
I would definitely someone who works from home otherwise I'd probably need a canine companion to keep me busy while you're at work since I love company and I'm still a pup and love to play.
I have a low maintenance short coat that requires very little brushing.
My new home will need secure 2m fencing (palings or colorbond) as I'm a medium content dingo and love to jump and climb.
Animal rescue is considered essential. SFDR can still come to you for meet and greets, yard checks and animal adoptions. We have volunteers in Canberra and New South Wales and can come to you even if you we are not in your local government area. Distance is not an issue when we are looking for the perfect homes for our dingoes. Please note we have COVID safety measures in place.
Adoption details
Please note at this time pending legal advice we are unable to offer fox kit adoption to private owners.
Dingo Adoption:
1. Send an email inquiry with your name and contact details outlining your current living situation, pets and family members and anything else you think might be relevant, particularly what your house and yard are like. Remember our dingoes typically require an enclosure or modified fencing.
2. We will email you back adoption information and an application form to fill out and return to us.
3. If your application is approved- Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Gouburn shelter or their foster carers home and let us find the right furry family member for you. We can also come to you. We drive dingoes all over NSW and the ACT to meet families interested in adoption.
4. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full and a yard check has been completed.
