LUCY - 3yo malamute x husky female ** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Lucy is a 2-3 years old female Alaskan Malamute.
She is a sweet natured, very affectionate and talkative young girl who is always excited to see you when you get home!
She can be very vocal when she sees you, when it’s dinner time, or heading out for a car ride or a walk!
She is toilet trained and very easy to have around the house. Often you will find her curled up at your feet ready for a belly scratch or if you feel generous enough, on the couch beside you or even on your bed! She happily settles on the floor or a mat/bed near you.
Lucy plays very well and is extremely sociable. She has been exposed to many different dogs at dog play areas and has behaved very well.
She would be best suited with another dog for company, interaction, socialisation and love. She would be suitable for a home with children as she has been around them from young to teenagers.
She loves her toys, pull ropes and balls. Lucy is a good sharer of these and is not possessive of her toys. Lucy absolutely loves food and can often be seen sneaking into the kitchen to see what's on offer! She can be brilliantly trained with food; her favourites are apples, broccoli and pasta.
Lucy spent time in the streets, therefore when she arrived in her foster home, she was prone to protecting any food she found or had in and outside the home. She has made significant progress with this. Lucy can now happily share bones and other food openly with her foster brother. Through being provided with a consistent routine of food, this has decreased her worry of not having any. She will need a family who is willing to continue this positive training with her. She will do anything for little treats and affection.
Being a malamute, she can be strong on the lead and would need a confident person to walk her. However she is fantastic on running and jogging on the lead. Lucy will make a fantastic addition to your home and will give you an enormous amount of love in return.

Please complete the questionnaire on the link below to assist us in matching you to the right dog:
All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and sterilised as part of the rehoming process. The owner would be required to action change of ownership and register their dog with their Council.
We also ensure a prospective new owner’s lifestyle and home environment is compatible with an individual dog. Every effort is therefore made to match the dogs and potential owners for suitability.
We charge an adoption fee for the dog we place with a new family.
This cost goes towards covering some of the veterinary and other expenses incurred in rescuing. Although our costs can exceed this amount, we believe every one of Husky Rescue's dogs are worth the care and expense provided in there rescue.
Adoption fees are set as per below:
$450 for all dogs of less than 2yo
$400 for dogs between 2-7yo
$270 for dogs over 7yo
Upon signing a contract of adoption, every dog owner agrees Husky Rescue's dog to be returned to the rescue if it does not prove suitable for its new owners, and we offer a two week trial to ensure this suitability.
Our aim is solely to match the right dog with the right individual or family.
