About Brutus ~ Great Dane x Bull Mastiff (on trial 5/3)
Meet Brutus!!! A big dog with an even bigger heart! This 2yr old Great Dane x Bull Mastiff has it all. He can sit, shake, comes when called, toilet trained and best of all he is awesome on a lead!! Basically if you’re looking for a big, beautiful, well-mannered best friend, then Brutus is your dog!!
He is living with 2 much smaller pugs and plays great with them. I'm sure he would rather a dog closer to his size to play a bit rougher with as he plays very gently with the smaller dogs. He has previously lived with a cat and they were good friends. But he seems very interested in the chickens so I wouldn't trust him around birds.
Brutus adores kids of all sizes! His foster home has a 1yr old and 6yr old. He is ever so gentle with the 1yr old and puts up with her poking and prodding him.
He spends most the day outside with the other dogs and of a night he comes inside. Once inside he will just stay on his bed all night and you won't hear anything from him till morning.
His yard has 5ft fencing which he shows no interest in trying to jump.
He has been to the beach and loves it. He does get very excited to see other dogs and will want to go play with them.
The best home for him would be either a family or a couple willing to make him part of the family. He doesn't like being alone all the time so would need another doggy friend for company.
His foster parents would love to keep him but that would be the end of their fostering days. He is just an absolutely awesome dog!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
