About Merlin *video*
Merlin, Merlin, Merlin. It's hard to start when you have a cat like this. There is no cat like him - he's absolutely amazing. Well mannered, clean, affectionate, independent and he just understands everything you say to him.
Merlin arrived into care as a tiny 2 week old kitten. He was hand-raised with help from Alice, the 11 month old border collie x retriever. Merlin thinks he's a dog but little does he know he's a cat (nobody has told him!). Merlin requires a home where he will have a dog friend so that he can continue to play the way he does.
This little man is at ease with any new situation that arises. He's comfortable walking into any new space and instantly lights up the room. If he's not on your lap or playing with the dog he's on your chest purring away or he's on your shoulders licking your ear, insisting that you pat him.
Merlin would love a family with kids. He'll wear them out before they wear him out - trust us. This little pocket rocket will run up and down the hallway chasing a laser light until he crashes..only to get up two minutes later and go again.
The only 'problem' this little guy has is over his food. It's all behavioural and may, or may not resolve. He likes broccoli, carrot and pretty much any other food he can get his teeth on. He likes the dogs food, pasta.. Merlin needs a family committed to working on his eating habits to make sure that he continues to know that food is always available to him and that he will never go hungry. Merlin is currently fed a mostly raw diet with some access to premium dry food.
Medical notes
Aspiration pneumonia at 8 weeks of age. Likely due to inhaling his food..literally.
