On Hold
This is Melton a muscovy drake and is now approximately 4-5 years old. He is a funny drake and likes people and other birds. Melton needs to go to a home where he is protected from foxes and dogs and is a well loved member of the family.
Melton has a condition called 'Wet Feather'. It's not life threatening but it does mean he needs a home with good adequate shelter.
As we are not a shelter but a rescue organisation all animals are in independent foster homes. We do not have a centralised location for people to come to and view the animals.
Any interest in received via an adoption application or expression of interest form. If the application matches the needs of the particular animal then that person will be contacted and the animal then taken to their home for a meet and greet.
Some animals will receive more than one applications so things can take a little longer than we'd like as we are a volunteer based organisation with limited resources.
Our process is put together for a particular reason and it won't suit everyone. We have seen where these animals have ended up and don't want to see that happen again. Maybe if there was a more thorough process less animals would end up in the pounds.
