About Kimba- Dingo
Hi my name is Kimba and once you get to know me you'll realize I'm one of the most loyal dingoes you will ever meet. I'll jump for joy when I see you and greet the sound of your car at the gate with an affectionate howl-hello. I walk so well on lead, I'm a real gentleman. Quiet and calm. I'm also good in the car. I love walks and I will stop and wait for you when you need to slow down and match my pace with yours. I'm very well behaved on leash.
My story was a sad one before I came to the shelter, so I can take a long time to trust new men, and would be better suited to a female owner. I do have some guy friends these days though at the shelter and every day I'm making progress and learning to over come my fears.
I would love a home with another female dog or dingo, but they would need to be a large or medium breed. I could also go to a home on my own, with an owner who has lots of time to spend with me. I would prefer a home with older children (14+) or no children please!
Being a dingo it's also important my new home has no birds, cats or pocket pets unless we can be kept separately.
I've been in care since 2016 and it would be paw-some to find a home of my own. Are you my fur-ever family?
FENCING-
Kimba is a high content dingo.
A high content dingo typically has two dingo parents or a large amount of dingo genetics. High content dingoes are often known as “pure dingoes”. High content dingoes have much stricter fencing requirements due to their climbing ability. You will need ONE OR MORE of the follow BEFORE an adoption trial for a high content dingo can begin.
- A 2.2m colour-bond or paling fence with nothing leaning against or near the fence line
- A 1.8m fence (of any sturdy material) with a 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing (see here: https://sanctuarysos.com/…/cat-proof-fence-barrier-to-keep-… ).
- A dog enclosure at least 1.8m high with either a full roof or 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing. Must be at least 25m square (for instance 5m x 5m or 8m x 3m)
- Mesh, concrete or similar around the base of the fence may also be required
Some manufacturers of pre-made dog enclosures include:

Another option is using construction fencing style panels from bunnings or weldedmesh sheets and posts.
PERMITS- no permit is required to own a dingo or dingo hybrid in NSW at the present time.
