At the grand old age of 16 1/2 years, Dolly is in need of somewhere to hang her lead.
Don't let her age fool you!! This girl may be old but she's as fit as an ox and you'd never know her age if t wasn't pointed out.
Dolly came to us a year and a half ago. Her mumma was very sick and we made a promise that we would make sure she was looked after. She spent over a year in permanent care before she came back to me at HQ as her foster mum was unable to care for her anymore.
It was then with the blessing of her previous mums fiends, that we decided Dolly was in need of her very own forever home, someone that will love her unconditionally for all her days.
Dolly loves going for walks. Although she can't handle long ones any more, this is her favourite thing.
She can get a little grumpy at times, I think it's justified given her age and all she's been through.
She's great with children but they need to be older so the understand boundaries.
Dolly was house trained however the older she has gotten the more accidents she has, especially at night. To fix her toileting in the bedroom during the night I use dog nappies. They are simple and easy to put on and save the mess. Dolly doesn't mind wearing them either which makes things much easier.
We are currently not asking for an adoption fee for Dolly, rather a donation to our charity so we can continue to rescue and support older dogs like this girl.
I'm also offering to groom Dolly and no charge for the rest of her time. She knows me and trusts me when I clip her, I've never had a problem with grooming her but know that she gave some groomers a hard time when she lived with her mum.
Dolly has "old dog" warts and lumps on her body. She received a blood test on the 19/10/16 and other than some minor elevations with her liver (vet said these were insignificant) she's looking great for her age.
Dolly has clouding of her eyes which affects her vision at times.
Give how old she is Dolly is quite active at times. When she gets tired she will send herself to bed.
