Introducing Teddy Bear aka "Teddy"
This young boy had a rough start to life but has come such along way in a short period of time. Teddy is friendly to everyone he meets, though a little reserved with men (his past experiences makes him wary) but is learning to trust again. Teddy loves zoomies, so he'd love another dog to run & play with at home. He's amazing gentle with small children being a larger dog, intuitively knowing kids are pure of heart like he is. Teddy is his name personified; soft and gentle.
Like most young dogs his age he requires training and guidance with positive reinforcement to see him blossom.
Some words from his carer:
"Teddy has not ruined or destroyed anything while being here, he's an sweet little angel. Enrichment toys keep him happy and engaged.
Overall temp: Happy, sweet, loving and a little bit goofy

Cat friendly: Not a fan
Other/small dog friendly: Yes
Small kids/teens: Yes

Walk on lead: Good, needs guidance
Food: LOVES food
Energy: low to med loves a run then sleeps
Loves humans: Yes, learning to trust with men
Our Furkids are to be met in person - with interstate adoptions (*) an exception. Most of our Furkids will be considered for interstate adoption unless they are unable to travel.
Once we receive your Pet Rescue enquiry, we will assess it and if we think you will be suitable we will ask you to complete our adoption application on our website at www.furkidsanimalrescueinc.com.au
After an adoption application is submitted, and we think that you will suit the Furkid, we arrange a meet and greet with you and the carer at their home, your family and any animals you have already - although, we may request more than one meet where a puppy or kitten is concerned and has not yet been vaccinated for health reasons. A meet with other animals may need to be done up to 2 weeks after a vaccination to be safe.
A yard check (or yard photos if you do not live near our carer or another volunteer) will be completed and only then will approval be considered.
If you are renting - we may ask for a copy of your lease or an approval from your landlord to have a pet.
The adoption fee must be deposited and cleared in our bank account before any animal is handed over. We bank with the CBA.
There is a 2 week trial period where it is a "foster" situation - if you have any issues with your chosen animal you must contact us immediately. We will arrange for vet care or any other requirements during this time. We can also help with training to assist your new furkid settle in their new home and dietary and behavioral training during this time.
If for any reason the furkid needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum $50) will be returned via bank transfer with in 10 working days. We do not deal in cash - we will only refund via bank transfer.
If the furkid is returned after the 2 week trial period generally no refund will be made.
Any paperwork and the microchip changeover will be completed no sooner before the 2 week trial period has elapsed. In some cases it may take longer as we may need to obtain veterinary paperwork for you or await registration of microchips.
We generally do NOT adopt out on the same day as a meet, unless prior arrangements have been made as we allow our foster carers and their families to say goodbye to their foster.
*Interstate adoptions may be requested for additional information and photographs of the proposed environment for the animal. Interstate adoptions must pay transport costs in addition to the adoption fee. We will source the transport costs once the adoption is approved as it is dependent on the size of the dog/cat and dates of travel.
If a Furkid is to returned from an interstate adoption, the adopter is to pay all costs to return the Furkid to us.
