About Winston- Dingo
Meet Winston. Winston enjoys long walks along the beach, back rubs and belly rubs! He's the adventurous type, looking for a companion who loves the outdoors but doesn't mind being the big spoon and having a good cuddle at the end of long day. Winston loves people and other dingoes. This loyal, loving dingo will follow the right person to the ends of the earth.
"Hullo friends and future dingo owners! My name is Winston and I'm a sweet, cheeky, playful 4yo looking for a family to take me home and make me one of the pack. I love the car and I am fantastic on lead when going for walks. I also know how to sit!
Because I'm an adult dingo people often pass me by as their future family member and I've been looking for a fur-ever home for nearly 2 years now. I've got so much love to give if someone would only give me the chance to join their fur-ever family.
I hard a very rough start to life, rescued from a backyard breeder. Before I came to SDR I'd never even left the yard I was born in. Since then though I've discovered how much I love people! I also other dingoes and some dogs, and one of my favorite things is swimming in the ocean and digging giant holes in sand to roll in."
Winston is one of a number of rescue dingoes surrendered into our care when their owners could no longer care for them. Winston is a very social dingo and would suit a home with another dingo or medium dog.
Winston is not suitable to live with cats, livestock or pocket pets unless they are housed separately/out of view. Winston could be rehomed to a home with a desexed female dog (large or medium), or with his best buddy at the shelter Leo (another young desexed male)
FENCING-
Winston is a high content dingo
A high content dingo typically has two dingo parents or a large amount of dingo genetics. High content dingoes are often known as “pure dingoes”. High content dingoes have much stricter fencing requirements due to their climbing ability. You will need ONE OR MORE of the follow BEFORE an adoption trial for a high content dingo can begin.
- A 2.4m colour-bond or paling fence with nothing leaning against or near the fence line
- A 1.8m fence (of any sturdy material) with a 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing (see here: https://sanctuarysos.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/cat-proof-fence-barrier-to-keep-cats-safe-in-the-garden.jpg ).
- A dog enclosure at least 1.8m high with either a full roof or 45 degree inward facing over-hang of 60cm to prevent climbing. Must be at least 25m square (for instance 5m x 5m or 8m x 3m)
- Mesh, concrete or similar around the base of the fence may also be required
Some manufacturers of pre-made dog enclosures include:

Another option is using construction fencing style panels from bunnings or weldedmesh sheets and posts.
PERMITS- no permit is required to own a dingo or dingo hybrid in NSW at the present time.
Medical notes
All our rescues come to their new homes desexed, vaccination and microchipped as well as treated for fleas, mites, worms and ticks.

Adopting a dingo from Sydney Fox Rescue is essentially a three step process:
1. Fill out an adoption form and send it back to us with an email outlining anything else you think might be relevant, particularly what your house and yard are like. Remember our dingoes require an enclosure or modified fencing.
2. Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Blacktown shelter or their foster carers home and let us find the right furry family member for you.
3. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full.
