Kip Rogers is a domestic medium hair ginger male cat.
Kip Rogers arrived in the pound very scared, and was at great risk of being put to sleep before he was rescued at the last hour. He has been in foster care with a few carers so far, and every time he moves he spends a fair bit of time hiding at first. However, once he gets to know his new people, he really comes out of his shell (check out the Temperament section below!).
Kippy is usually very shy around new people, and when strangers visit he will hide in one of his favourite nooks or crannies, even if the people are in a different room to him. He started out very wary of people, but given time and patience in his foster home he became very used to receiving snuggles and giving them too! Once he moved to his second main foster home, he took a little while to get over the move but was soon snuggling up to his new foster carer. Sometimes in the past, Kip seemed scared of his human wearing a big hat or a big bulky coat, or even clothes that made too much noise. He was perturbed! However, when he is snuggling in his carer’s arms, he may end up purring super loudly and resting his head against his carer’s head. He has a squawky “cockatoo” meow.
LIKES / DISLIKES
The way to Kippy’s heart is through his tummy (and squishy puff catnip toys)! He loves dinner and snack times (breakfast too!), and if you want pats, you’re best to put some food down for him. He also dislikes most other toys that are offered to him, but loves his squishy puff catnip toys. That first squishy puff he played with was the first one he wasn't scared of! He has a bit of a history of not being good with the other cats, so we need Kip to be an "only cat" in his home.
Kippy needs a home with experienced and/or patient cat people who can give him the time and space he needs to settle. He needs to be an only kitty as he doesn't like other felines stealing the attention of his human. Great news, though - he's currently sharing his home with two lovebirds, and it seems like they might be the bosses! He's just not sure what to make of them. You can check out Kippy's instagram profile to see him in action with the birds! (https://www.instagram.com/kippykipgram/) He didn't care too much about the little dogs he previously shared a house with. He is an adorable, fluffy darling with the absolute best paws in the land.
