Heidi is a domestic short hair tabby female adult cat.
Before arriving in the pound, Heidi was in an environment where she had had twice-daily interaction with a kind man who was feeding her and the other cats, but she wasn't really used to any other people. She has been in one main foster home so far and is getting more and more used to the resident human. She is a tiny cat who more than likely had at least one litter of kittens at some point.
In her foster home, Heidi has been integrated into the house, and has shown herself to be an absolute lover of other cats. She is subservient to all other cats, and loves nothing better than to smooch up to them and hang out with them all day. She prefers to eat in company with other cats. She has also learned tricks from the other cats, such as how to meow loudly at the human when it's food time! She gets very close proximity-wise to her human, though she runs the instant her foster carer tries to pat her. But she comes back pretty quickly because ... food! Heidi is a lovely, sweet little girl who may not be a lap cat, but is totally adorable in her own way. She is never aggressive and prefers to run and hide, than stay and defend herself!
LIKES / DISLIKES
If strangers are in the house, Heidi hides. It's how she got her name, after all! So she's not the biggest fan of strangers intruding on her home. But once the strangers have gone, Heidi will stop hiding! She absolutely loves dinner time, and loves the company of her fellow kitties. She hasn't been tested out with dogs.
Heidi would take a while to adjust to being in a new home. We want her to go to a home with at least one other kitty, or even better, multiple cat-friendly cats. She is a community cat and has spent all her life (except her stay in the pound) with other kitties right next to her. Heidi needs a home with people who can find delight in her adorable personality while accepting that they might not ever get snuggles from her! It would be wonderful if she could be adopted along with her "sister" Cindy ( https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/401133 ).
