Date of Birth: 5th Feb, 2015
Rescue Date: 8th Mar, 2015
Location: Golden Bay, WA
Pedro is a domestic short hair black, brown and white patched tabby. He is a male teenaged cat.
Pedro was found on the street at 3 weeks old and has been a very timid kitty since. He is currently fostered with another former Impound Feline Rescue cat whom he enjoys playing, sleeping and eating with.
Pedro is a very loving, affectionate, clever, quirky, playful, curious, chatty and energetic kitty with just the right amount of mischievousness. He will take longer than the usual kitty to settle into his new environment and will need a little hiding spot of his own to feel safe. He is very shy in meeting new people so the best way to meet Pedro and see if he is a good fit into your family is to foster him for a few months with a view to adopt him. This will give him more time to get used to the new environment and be himself.
The Pedro you see first time you meet him is not the real Pedro - as he relaxes more, his interactive personality comes out. Once Pedro is comfortable he likes to get as close as possible to you, purring and head bumping to show his love. He likes to follow you around and watch everything you do so he is a great companion but he also has an independent side where he is happy to sleep or play on his own. He also gets on well with most other cats after they get used to each other and he likes to have a kitty playmate.
He is very curious about dogs and would probably get on well with one who isn't phased by cats. He enjoys watching human children (this will take many months with the right child) but does not like them to get too close. He purrs at the drop of a hat and will sleep in bed with you like a little furry baby! Pedro is very loved in his current foster home and will be terribly missed when he finds his forever home. He will make someone else very happy in the long run as long as they are patient with him in the beginning.
LIKES / DISLIKES
a regularly cleaned litter box
cat toys (especially hair ties), and
playing, both with humans and other cats.
an unclean litter box
getting put in his carrier, and
overly boisterous children.
Pedro’s ideal home should be relatively quiet; a single person or a couple. A small family would also suit as long as the children know how to respect a cat. Pedro needs someone who will take a chance and be patient with him.
*Adoption fee helps to cover the cost of sterilisation, microchipping, vaccination and flea / worming treatment
Pedro has a sensitive tummy so is currently fed Black Hawk Cat biscuits (available at all pet stores)and wet cat food that does not contain beef. Apart from that he is in perfect health with good teeth and a soft shiny coat (the softest fur ever). He is up to date with vaccinations, worming, flea treatments and has been sterilised and microchipped.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to request a meet & greet with the cat or kitten you are interested in. If the meet & greet goes well, adoption can go ahead. We must receive the full adoption fee plus a completed adoption contract before the cat can go to his or her trial home. Please email us to discuss all the steps required to adopt.
