TINKA - IF001-14
Date of Birth: 14th Apr, 2013
Rescue Date: 10th Feb, 2014
Location: Parmelia, WA
Tinka is a domestic short hair silver tabby female cat.
Tinka is our longest-fostered kitty, coming into care back on 10-Feb-2014. She used to be with another rescue, but IFR offered to take over her care when we had to put her with one of our own foster carers. Tinka arrived in the pound with three beautiful babies in tow. They have long since been adopted, but Tinka is still waiting.
Tinka has a community cat 'heritage', so she is great with other cats. She has often been a shadow in her foster home, but her current foster mum is excited with every new step she takes. Tinka has had a major breakthrough in recent weeks, and now wraps herself around her foster mum's legs and accepts hearty snuggles (see attached video). This has taken Tinka many years, and we are all super excited!! It went from us being excited about Tinka sniffing a carer's hand, to us being excited that she's almost like a "normal" kitty now. ;)
LIKES / DISLIKES
Tinka is fairly easy to please, but the one thing she just cannot abide is being around a cat who is mean to her. She loves cats, but was dismayed recently to have a foster cat join her who hated her guts. That foster cat has moved to new care now and Tinka is much happier.
When she moves to a new home, Tinka may take quite some time to settle. It took her about 10 months in her current foster home to let her foster mum pat her paw, and in the months since then she has adjusted in leaps and bounds. Tinka needs a forever family who understand her special needs as a former 'community cat'. We would need Tinka to go to a home with at least one other cat she can befriend.
*Adoption fee helps to cover the cost of sterilisation, microchipping, vaccination and flea / worming treatment
Send an email to email@example.com to request a meet & greet with the cat or kitten you are interested in. If the meet & greet goes well, adoption can go ahead. We must receive the full adoption fee plus a completed adoption contract before the cat can go to his or her trial home. Please email us to discuss all the steps required to adopt.
