About Biscuit
Affectionate, loyal and entertaining to watch.
Other dogs
Biscuit was beaten up by an angry dog once and is now cautious of new dogs. However, she is fine with dogs she knows and plays well with both a male and female dog in the family.
Cats
Biscuit does not bark at cats and just looks at them. She has licked one before.
Other animals
Biscuit is good around farm animals such as horses and sheep.
Kids
Yes but might accidentally knock one over. She loves her carers’ niece and nephew who are over 10 years old. However, we usually recommend teenagers and over.
Size
25 kgs
Exercise requirements
Medium - playful and energetic. She sleeps a lot through the day but loves going for walks and fetching.
How is your dog on/off a lead?
Starts off pulling but settles down nicely. She was brilliant off lead as a young dog but we do not have her off lead anymore.
Escape artist
No
Toilet trained
Yes
Tolerance to being alone
Yes
Likes
She loves people and is very well behaved when someone is giving her attention. She becomes a bit of a sook when someone pats her. Biscuit loves swimming and even does laps in the pool on her own!!
Dislikes
Biscuit is cautious of other dogs she does not know because she has been afraid of them ever since another dog ran into her and bowled her over in the dog park.
Ideal home
A loving family who have time for her and shower her with kindness and affection. The best case scenario would be a person, couple or family with older kids who understands Biscuit really wants is to be with people - laying at their feet or at least sitting nearby. As long as she can be a part of the family she will be happy no matter what size yard they have.
We recommend you have experience with dogs and have the skills and time to do some training to help Biscuit develop more confidence around other dogs. DOG ADOPTION offers FREE group classes with a qualified animal behaviouralist.
Generally
Biscuit originally came from a private breeder and has always been well looked after and cherished by her family.
Biscuit will bark to alert you but will not bark constantly.
Her carers like her loving nature, the tricks she can do, her loyalty and how they feel very safe with her around. They also like the fact that she does not bite and rarely if ever jumps up on people. They love swimming with her and eating dinner outside with her. But her carers are cautious in the park when meeting new dogs and tend to keep her on the lead.

Adoption details
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
