About Tennille
Now in foster care - listed 27 june. Tennille (now known as tia) was rescued with the captain and it was initially thought that they should be rehomed together as they appeared to be particularly bonded. However, in the last couple of months it has been noticed that, while they still love to play together, they are much less reliant on each other and now even sleep in separate baskets! therefore, as well of course as still being suitable for rehoming together, they are now also considered suitable for rehoming separately to a home that has another small dog requiring companionship - in tia’s case, a somewhat playful, gentle and ideally male companion, as she can be somewhat competitive with other females! \ tia is a very sensitive girl due to coming from an abusive background, though it is thought that jack actually received the brunt of the abuse and we think he may have protected tia from the worst of it, judging from his over-protectiveness of her when they first came into foster care. Tia is also rather frightened of men, though she takes less time to trust those who she feels are ‘gentle and good’, and once she does it appears to be love - she will launch herself into a loved and trusted man’s lap and then quickly role over to enjoy a belly rub! when her foster mum comes home she rushes backwards and forwards and around and around and tries to engage in playtime, ears and tail erect, front paws pattering up and down, often little bottom going up in the air, and a beautiful little chi smile going on! she loves to sleep under cover and especially under your duvet and close to your legs when allowed up on the bed but again at 2. 6 kilos and with delicate legs this might be unadvisable except for any ‘sunday morning lie-ins’ - unless of course you happen to sleep like the proverbial log! on occasion tia will be shy about getting ready for a walk and you could be forgiven for thinking, the way she is curled up on that cushion blinking at you, that she really doesn’t want to go out at all, however once her harness and lead are on she then can’t wait to get out that door and get going! jack’s walking rules also apply to tia…and tia also needs a stable, patient, essentially gentle and very loving home. Tia seeks rather than demands attention but is generally a little princess and would prefer to be rehomed where that is both recognised and appreciated! it should be noted that both jack and tia would ideally be rehomed to a home without cats and free-ranging bunnies, chickens or other small pets, as the urge to give chase appears to sometimes overwhelm these two - despite their good intentions!
All shelter dogs and puppies come desexed, wormed, microchipped, lifetime registered with your local council and have had their first vaccination. In addition, adult dogs will be heartworm tested and and dogs in foster care will have a booster vaccination (a small additional fee applies to dogs in foster care to cover this).
