About Captain
Now in foster care - listed 27 june. The captain (now known as captain jack) was rescued with tennille and it was initially thought that they should be rehomed together as they appeared to be particularly bonded. However, in the last couple of months it has been noticed that, while they still love to play together, they are much less reliant on each other and now even sleep in separate baskets! \ therefore, as well of course as still being suitable for rehoming together , they are now also considered suitable for rehoming separately to a home that has another small dog requiring companionship - in jack’s case, a very playful but gentle and ideally female companion, as he can be somewhat competitive with other males! jack is a very playful, energetic (his favourite inter-doggy game is ‘tag’) and hugely affectionate boy with strong possessive tendencies! one of his favourite things to get as close as possible is to walk along the top edge of the sofa and lay over your shoulder and partially around your neck, trying to give you as many licks to your face as possible! he also loves to curl up in prime position on your lap while you sit watching tv, or to curl into your neck if he is allowed up on the bed during a sunday morning lie-in – he would not complain if he was allowed to sleep on the bed at night, though care would have to be taken, as he is only 2. 4 kilos, not to squash him while in a deep slumber! jack also loves to go for a walk and will jump and run around in excitement when you pick up his harness and lead. If in a secure park with no other dogs (due to his excitability) he can be let off to run around having the time of his life – if you thought a chihuahua was some sort of elbow bracelet (god forbid!), to see jack running around a park will absolutely convince you otherwise! needless to say, jack must always be on a lead for walks around the streets. It should be pointed out that due to his previous abusive situation and subsequent essentially hyper-sensitive nature, jack does require a stable, patient, gentle, caring and very loving home situation. Jack will also take a long while to come to trust any males in the household due to previous negative experiences, unfortunately. This happy chappie is an absolute delight to have around and will keep you company, to say the least, and give your other little dog (or tia!) lots of playtime and happy companionship!
All shelter dogs and puppies come desexed, wormed, microchipped, lifetime registered with your local council and have had their first vaccination. In addition, adult dogs will be heartworm tested and and dogs in foster care will have a booster vaccination (a small additional fee applies to dogs in foster care to cover this).
