About Sketch
Sketch is a desexed male Labrador who is black in colour.
He was born on the 5.6.12
Sketch is a lovely natured boy, very affectionate and loyal. He loves to play with toys and to have a good run, he really likes to have a swim in baby pools too.
Sketch has been a part of the Assistance Dogs training program from 8 weeks old and has progressed really well. He knows all basic obedience & manners and some advanced skills.
Unfortunately, Sketch has been released from our program as he can display resource guarding behaviour towards other animals and humans.
This is predominantly when Sketch is eating food, especially foods of high value such as meaty bones or treats.
It is essential that all family members understand and agree that Sketch needs to have personal space whilst eating and to never take food from Sketch.
This is quite simple to implement- eg feeding Sketch in a closed off area such as the launrdy, or calling Sketch away from a chewed bone and keeping him inside whilst someone else disposes of it.
Sketch can also show some reactivity towards other dogs. We have implemented a management strategy that has helped control his reactivity.
Medical notes
He is up to date with parasite protection and will not need vaccinations until 2016.
