About Herman
Affectionate, playful and handsome character. Definitely a beach ‘’dude’’ . But also a mummies boy.
- Other dogs?
Absolutely. He loves everything and wants to play with everyone.
- Cats?
Yes – but I recommend caution. He may want to play and it might end in tears.
- Kids?
Primary school and older. He may accidentally knock over a toddler with his puppy exuberance. He has not lived with young children but appears to be a very ‘’forgiving’’ and tolerant pup.
- Size?
22 kgs
- Activity level / exercise requirements?
Low – moderate. He needs a good walk or play every day but if you miss one he will not suffer. As he is still a pup he may chose to dig a hole or chew something important if you ignore him for too long.
- Escape artist?
No
- Does the dog need company during the day? People/other dogs?
He is very people orientated. He will not suit a home that wants a dog as a companion during the day for another dog. You will need to be home more often then not as he specifically wants a companion.
- Toilet Trained?
Yes
- Likes?
The water !!! The beach is a special favourite. He is very entertaining watching him play with other doggies at the beach.
He even jumps in the pond !!!!
- Dislikes?
Being alone. Being ignored. Lack of cuddles.
- Ideal home?
You will need to be home more often than not and want a special, affectionate companion. He will not suit a home if you work full time as he will bark, act up and dig. This can be addressed. Active seniors or someone who is at home during most of the day are ideal.
- GENERALLY
A gentle character, Herman is a very special dog. He is extremely people orientated and will make a great companion for a lucky home. As he is still very much a puppy he is tending to show puppy tendencies – a little teething, a little digging and a little over exuberance. He is great in the car and was on this best behaviour when I met him.

Adoption details
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
