Looking for love
Medium Male Pointer Mix Dog

Riot is one dog who really deserves a chance at living a wonderful life with a family who will understand him and provide him with the love and attention he deserves. Riot's behaviour, whilst at the shelter, has improved tenfold and we are delighted to be now seeking a home for him where he can enjoy all that life has to offer with a family of his own.
A little misunderstood, this young dog came into care not knowing how to enjoy life and somewhat confused and misled. We have worked tirelessly with Riot for some time, including obtaining the assistance of our friends at Evolve Dog Training, and during this time Riot's behaviour has improved dramatically. Riot is now a new dog!
Riot was unsure about how to behave with people and around other dogs at times. He has made great improvements in leaps and bounds and, although this training needs continue in his new home, with some consistency and a little effort by his new family, Riot has the potential to be a star in his new home.
Not as large in size as a pointer, Riot is an attractive boy and a very intelligent dog. \ He is food motivated and this is a bonus when training him as he will co-operate for treats.
Riot is not aggressive, though he is very active and can be boisterous in his behaviour. For this reason we recommend his new home be one where there are no young children. He is agile and has the ability to jump if he wanted to. We recommend six foot fencing for any medium sized, active dog, and this is no different for Riot's new home.
Riot's new family will need to be one who are experienced with dogs and who have the time and are willing to put a little effort into continuing his training. Initial handling and training sessions will be provided at Staffy Rescue, prior to Riot leaving for his new home.
Riot is a great dog, and he has the potential to be a wonderful companion for the right family. He deserves a chance and is seeking a family who are up for a challenge and will be excited to see Riot blossom and improve daily with a little love, care and attention. The end result will be very worthwhile.
Riot has been taught to walk on leash and for the most part he does really well.
Further training will need to continue in his new home to ensure he maintains making progress and does not digress, so his new family will need to keep this in mind and be prepared to put in a little work into ensuring she learns right from wrong and behaves in the manner expected from him. We can offer guidance and advice and also make contact with a well respected and reputable trainer/behaviouralist at Evolve Dog Training if this is something the family wishes to consider - https://www.facebook.com/EvolveDogTrainingBehaviour
