🐾 Meet Socksie – The Sweet Survivor, Water Baby & Retired Fence Acrobat 💖💦

Hi, I’m Socksie, a 2-year-old brindle beauty with a gentle soul, a brave heart, and an enthusiastic love affair with water. Puddles? Yes. Rivers? Absolutely. The beach? My happy place. For reasons unknown, I do not like hoses — go figure! But don’t worry, I’m perfectly happy to tolerate a bath when it’s required like the sensible lady I am.

I’ve had a bit of a rough start in life. I was once found in a truly heartbreaking situation, hanging upside down on a fence (yes, I can be a jumper — ambition got the best of me). I badly injured my leg, ripping the ligaments, but thanks to the wonderful Dr. Max, I had surgery and am now recovering beautifully. Swimming and gentle walks are part of my rehab, which honestly works out great because… water is my favourite thing ever 🌊

Despite everything, my spirit shines bright. If I’m happy, I don’t actually want to go anywhere — I just want to be near my people, chilling and enjoying life.

A few important things to know about me:

💦 Certified water baby (minus the hose situation)
🐕 Friendly and playful with other dogs
🐈 Cat-friendly — I’ll try to play, but if kitty says “no,” I politely step back and encourage them with respectful play bows
🧢 Strongly dislikes hats (they are suspicious and I stand by this opinion)
🐕‍🦺 I may growl or bark at new people at first — I take my role as a protector seriously — but once introduced, I’m all tail wags, pats, and cuddles
🌀 I can occasionally be a little boisterous, so I may not be the best match for very young children or elderly humans
🦮 I can walk on a lead, but I’m still getting used to it — especially if I decide I don’t want to go "that" way, in which case I may put the brakes on
🧠 Luckily, I’m a smart cookie and pick things up quickly, so with a bit of patience I’ll be ready for Crufts (assuming they accept brindle mixed breeds with the face of an angel and a Chow Chow curly tail)

I’m fully up to date on my health care:

✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Wormed
✔️ On heartworm prevention

Whether it’s watching TV at home, relaxing with my people, or spending a sunny day at the beach, I’m happiest just being part of the family. I’m looking for a home where I’ll be loved, cherished, and given the time and kindness to finish my recovery.
