About Katniss
✨ Meet Katniss ✨
Katniss is a 3-year-old, sweet-natured girl who’s ready to find her happily-ever-after. She’s still a little shy at first—she’s been in care her whole life and has had to move between foster homes—but in a calm home with a patient heart, she slowly blossoms. Once she feels safe, she leans into gentle pats and shows you just how loving she really is, with a big purr!
Katniss is friendly with other cats and would truly thrive with a gentle feline buddy. If you have a confident, cat-friendly cat who’s looking for a loving companion, Katniss could be the perfect match—she enjoys the comfort of another friendly cat and would love to share her new life with a calm pal, it’s the love she is searching for.
She also has a playful side: she loves automatic toys and a quick run around when the mood strikes. When she’s not playing, she’s happy to sit at the window and watch the world go by. Katniss adores wet food and will happily give you all the pats in the world before each meal (and she’s always keen to come and see what you’re eating, too!). Her ideal home is an indoor sanctuary where she can feel safe, settle in at her own pace, and build confidence day by day.
What Katniss needs most is a family who will give her time, kindness, and gentle reassurance. She is so deserving of a loving, stable home, and in return she’ll reward you with a beautiful bond and the quiet joy of watching her trust grow. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive cat—and especially if you have a friendly cat who would love a devoted companion—Katniss may be the one you’ve been waiting for.

Medical notes
Katniss was hit by a car and had an exploratory laparotomy (often called "Ex-Lap" on 24/4/24). This is a major emergency surgery used to diagnose and repair internal abdominal injuries that may not be immediately visible on X-rays or ultrasounds, such as organ rupture, internal bleeding, or diaphragmatic hernias.
Around this time, it was discovered Katniss had fractures and has had fracture repair & Femoral Head and Neck Excision (FHNE) - this is a procedure that removes the ball of the hip joint to eliminate chronic pain from fractures, luxations, or severe arthritis. It creates a "false joint" of fibrous tissue, allowing cats to regain comfortable mobility. Recovery takes 1-2 months, typically with excellent functional outcomes.
Katniss has also had Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) and has since recovered from her treatment and considered cured. This condition is not contagious to humans or other animals - it occurs as a result of a mutuation of feline coronavirus
